What It's All About...

This course provides you with a user manual for the human brain – unpacking its inner workings, the influence of neurochemicals, social norms, cognitive dissonance, the biases that impede our thinking and how to recode them, and how all of this plays into strategically effecting change.

  • Unpack how you have been taught to think
  • Formulate a base understanding of the mental processes that influence decision making
  • Discover the cause and effect relationship of neurochemical influencers, while identifying and relating to them in your own life.
  • Determine and understand the dynamic relationship between biological systems and social constructionism.
  • Learn to unpack how norms formed, the feedback loop they create, and how to challenge them effectively
  • Develop the ability to identify and recode cognitive and implicit biases, halting them from influencing decision making.
  • Understand the interconnectedness of behavior, attitudes, and social structures, so you can better identify where and how to intervene for change

This course will help you wrap your head around the relationship between the brain’s inner workings, our experiences of the world, and consequently, our capacity to influence and effect change in it.

From the conscious to subconscious, you'll gain insight into neurochemical influencers, the power of social influencers and norms, how biases impact our emotions, perceptions and actions, and how we make decisions.

By the end of the course, you'll be equipped to begin identifying and recoding the biases that impede rational decision making AND will have a more nuanced understanding of how to motivate changes and actions, with people's (not so rational) brains in mind.
